Scope and Contents

This collection contains miscellaneous news clippings and two scrapbooks containing photocopies of the recollections of Charles Pierce, former employee at the Tick Tock Inn in West Coxsackie. Also included in the box is a Menu from the Tick Tock Inn [A separate gift of Frank Gerraine] as well as a selection of local postcards in a poly artifact sleeve.

Biographical / Historical

Charles W. Pierce was an empployee for several decades at the Tick Tock Inn, a local roadhouse and bowling alley in West Coxsackie along route 9W. John A. Reis was the owner/operator of the business, opening it in 1933 and running it until it was destroyed by fire in 1945. It was rebuilt and reopened in 1950, and much of the happenings and occurences there are related in the handwritten manuscripts of Charles Pierce which were photocopied and included in this collection.
