Scope and Contents

This collection comprises a large selection of assessment rolls, both mass-printed and otherwise, covering almost two centuries of municipal recordkeeping focused on real property in Greene County. The bulk of the collection comprises the assessment rolls of the Town of Coxsackie from roughly 1940 to 1980, and are the original bound rolls kept by the Town Clerk. In addition to these original rolls, two bankers boxes contain scattered various printed assessment rolls of the type that was printed annually for residents with a directory of municipal officials as well as the tax roll of residents. These printed booklets cover several towns in Greene County, though they are not contiguous or complete. One additonal box contains manuscript assessment rolls from the mid-19th century for the Town of Athens.
