Scope and Contents
This map shows a section of the division line between the towns of Catskill and Coxsackie running from the mouth of Murderer's Creek near Loonenburg westward towards Cairo. Water features are the only geographic reference shown on the map, and any homes and roads which the line passed on its westward course are shown and described. Settlements are shown at Loonenburg, near Shinglekill, and on what may be Sandy Plains.

Letter from Joseph Forbes discussing religion and personal matters to his "cossin" Leonard Bronk. The reverse contains a letter from Leonard to Joseph Forbes informing him that his letter intended for Miss Polly and Rachal was not received by them. Leonard also mentions all of the wagons full of provisions going up their road to Albany for the Army in Canada.

The letter refers to Leonard not replying to a previous letter "on acct of the Great Damage Your Place had sustained by the uncommon flood of water that had been at that Place..." Van Vechten mentions his poor health and the poor health of the "men on this ground". Other updates include prisoners being taken to Ticonderoga and the implied marriage of Annetie Van Orden.
