Scope and Contents

File contains a selection of the earliest surviving paperwork of the Vestry of Trinity Episcopal Church. Included within are signed copies of resolutions, inventories of pews sold annually, the deeds for the pews of Samuel Hamilton, Isaac Northrup, and Samuel Haight, and an array of correspondence and letters related to the governance of the church, the purchase of the land for the original edifice, and the introduction, hiring, and death of Reverend Joseph Prentiss. Some later materials relate to court disputes and events held at the church.
