File contains a selection of miscellaneous Last Wills and Testaments of individuals who resided in the vicinity of the current boundaries of the Town and Village of Athens. These documents include Wills that were never probated in Albany or Greene County which were retained by the family and subequently donated, as well as copies of Wills which were probated and filed within the records of the Greene County Surrogate's Court (making these duplicates). Included is an inventory of Wills in this file.
