This series comprises a selection of ledgers from various townships in Greene County which were used by Town Assessors to compile and prepare official assessment rolls. These materials appear in a variety of formats and bindings, and have been compiled from several different donors dating back to the formation of the archives of the Greene County Historical Society. Of particular note is a box which contains a selection of the handwritten tax rolls of the Town of Athens from the mid-19th century, and an 1813 tax list of resident and non-resident property owners in Greene County likely compiled for the State Comptroller's Office.

From the Collection: 10 Cubic Feet (Two banker's boxes, one legal size document container, eighty-two bound volumes.) : Printed handbooks as well as typewritten and handwritten ledger pages.
