From the Series: This series comprises a selection of correspondence between Clarice Weeks Millspaugh and Forrest Van Loon Ryder [alias Jerome Lawson] concerning Hudson River steamboats. Included in the series is a considerable array of transcribed articles by Samuel Van Aken and others which were prepared and mailed by Mrs. Millspaugh to Mr. Ryder while the latter was incarcerated at the South Carolina State Pennitentiary in Columbia, SC.
