Scope and Contents
This map, of which there are two identical copies, shows the proposed siding of the Alpha Portland Cement Company as a yellow survey line in relation to State Route 9W and the West Shore Railroad less than a mile south of the hamlet of Alsen. Precise measurements are given and nearby buildings are shown in relation to the railways and highway. This map was prepared by the New York Central and Hudson River Railroad, which took over operation of the West Shore Railroad through Greene County in 1885.
