Scope and Contents
File contains a selection of correspondence between John E. Boos of Albany, NY and Perry M. deLeon of Virginia and Helen Brainard Cole of Wisconsin about their experiences during the American Civil War. Of particular note within the Correpondence is discussion of Mrs. Cole's wartime service and dialogue with Mr. DeLeon about the terminology used to describe those who fought for the Confederate States of America during the war. Mrs. Cole was a Nurse and Mr. DeLeon a Paymaster of the Confederate Navy.
