Scope and Contents
Papers pertaining to the estate of Jeremiah Day, former president of Day and Holt Co. in Catskill. The folder contains Jeremiah Day's will dated 1915, estate appraisal, notice to creditors, estate tax proceedings, securities valuation, receipts for life insurance policies, real property indentures, and a deposition of P. DeWitt Hitchcock, successor president of Day and Holt, enumerating oompany assets and liabilities. The real property documents include maps and: (1) a 1909 indenture between Anna B. Hill and Jeremiah Day; (2) a 1909 indenture between Jeremiah and Fanny S. Day and Emily F. Becker; (3) a 1913 easement agreement between Jeremiah and Fanny S. Day and Emily F. Becker, and Anna B. Hill, and (4) a 1927 indenture betwen Rodney D. Day, et al., executors, and Alice L. Babcock.
