All items are in a fair condition. Some adhesive in the scrapbook is degrading and the scrapbook has been removed from its original cover boards for storage.

Biographical / Historical

The contents of the Edith S. Wilson Collection were assembled by Edith Smith Wilson over the course of her time as an employee of Amos Post, Inc. of Catskill, NY. A Fuel Company which operated in Catskill for nearly a century. Mrs. Wilson seems to have collected materials realted to the operation of the company and its expansion in the years following the Second World War, particularly there are photographic materials and news articles concerning the creation of the Amos Post Tank Farm and Fuel Terminal at Catskill Point in the 1960s - an event that was hotly disputed in the community. There are several files of photographic material, one of which is mostly unidentified pictures of employees and members of management taken on polaroid film, and two others which are files of photos of Petroleum Company operators at conferences in Catskill in the 1950s and 1960s. Edith S. Wilson was a 1947 graduate of Catskill High School, and included in the collection is a scrapbook she compiled during the course of that year which includes cards and ephemera but also photographs of social outings featuring her and her classmates.
