Map of the Division of Lot Number One of the First Division of the Lindsey Patent
Item — Case: Flat File Drawer 14
Identifier: MAP 2020.0013-LOB 6.27
Scope and Contents
Map is a color-coded survey by John Van Vechten of the subdivided lots along the west side of Main Street in the Village of Catskill probably before 1820. No buildings are shown but street names are given as well as the initials of those who owned each respective lot shown. In one instance a lot is described as being "Fulton's Mill Lot" while Bridge Street is only shown as comprising the stretch of that road from Main to the Bridge itself. The uphill or easterly portion of modern Bridge Street at that time was referred to as Court Street, and was originally laid out somewhat out of square with the rest of the streets in the vicinity. The primary holders of lots in this division are Garrett Abeel and David Abeel.
