Item — Case: Flat File Drawer 14
Identifier: MAP 2020.0016-LOB 6.21
Scope and Contents
Map is a blueprint copy by Charles H. Van Orden of an earlier map once in the possession of Theodore A. Cole. The Lindsey Patent was the original grant covering the east side of the Village of Catskill confirmed in 1738. The First division of 10 lots was made in in 1741, and a second division comprising 20 lots was made the same year. The Map shows the first and second divisions as well as some geographic and manmade features for reference. The Hudson River comprises the eastern boundary, the western boundary of the Patent is Catskill Creek, and the Hans Vosen Kill makes up a portion of the northern Boundary. Three buildings are shown situated along a line representing the Susquehanna Turnpike/Main Street. The southern of the two buildings is likely Dies' Mansion, the northern is possibly the home of Egbert Bogardus, and the middle is not yet determined.
