Scope and Contents

This small collection comprises a selection of receipts of Volna Titus related to his time as a farmer and postman living in New Baltimore, New York. There is a selection of miscellaneous receipts for maintenance of his home and vehicles, as well as some personal financial materials. Of note are a selection of shipping invoices and receipts for agricultural produce, particularly apples, and invoices for the purchase of shipping barrels. Also included are shipping receipts for fertilizer and other supplies.

Biographical / Historical

Obituary of Volna Titus, May 28, 1964:

Volna Titus, a native of Round Top, died recently in Deland, Fla. Mr. Titus was born July 21, 1874 and spend his boyhood and early youth at the home of his Parents, the Winding Brook Farm in Round Top, later moving to Hannacroix where he resided for many years, was postmaster at New Baltimore and a rural mail carrier. He belonged to the Methodist Church and to the Masonic Order of NEw Baltimore. His body will be sent north for burial in Round Top Cemetery.
