Scope and Contents This series contains four scrapbooks from the Van Valkenburg family of Athens. Three of these were originally compiled by Athens Town Historian Nellie McKnight and were passed by her to Mr. Amos Flint, son of Orin Flint, prior to her passing in 1956. The compiler of the fourth and latest scrapbook is unknown. McKnight Scrapbook Three contains a selection of interesting manuscript material that predates the period in which the scrapbook was compiled.

Scope and Contents This scrapbook produced by an unknown compiler contains a selection of contemporary clippings regarding Athens business and civic activities as well as miscellaenous history articles. Of note are some articles on the Athens Pool, some steamboat articles by F. Van Loon Ryder, and news on political activities and elections.

Scope and Contents The contents of this collection are primarily handwritten documents donated in three separate accessions in 1995, 2010, and 2021 by grandchildren of Orin Q. Flint. Scope and Contents This scrapbook contains an interesting selection of manuscript materials and ephemera related to the early history of the Village of Athens, as well as contemporary articles. Of note is an early pritned copy of the 1836-1837 Athens Coporation Account, as well as a selection of clippings concerning the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse and the Brunner family around the period that the lighthouse was portrayed on the cover of the Saturday Evening Post.
