Municipal Minutes and Ordinances of the Village of Athens

Scope and Contents The Minutes Books and Ordinances of the Village of Athens contain the proceedings of the Village Government dating to its first recorded meeting in 1805. All decisions and relevant disucssions had during proceedings of the Village Government are recorded in these ledgers, as are names of present officers. Interestingly, the locations of meetings are also recorded as are various decisions regarding early licenscing and economic development efforts.

Minutes Book of the Schoharie Kill Bridge Company

Scope and Contents Ledger contains the handwritten minutes of the Schoharie Kill Bridge Company from its incorporation in 1810 to the dissolution of the business in 1903. Each meeting lists the location of the meeting, officers present, and detailed resultions concerning the governance and maintenance of the turnpike road and its toll houses.

Guest Register of Griffin's Retreat

Scope and Contents Item is a guest register for a small boarding house in Hensonville, Town of Windham for the decade of 1940. Guest names appear with their permanent place of residence. Occasionally arrival and depature dates are given. Of note is the prevalence of visitors from Connecticut in addition to the metropolitan area of New York City.

Scope and Contents Item is a ledger of accounts related to the operation of the W. V. B. Heermance Steam Ferryboat at Coxsackie as well as miscellaneous accounts of the firm of Hamilton and Smith engaged in the freight and shipping business at Coxsackie. Some accounts are abstract tallies of expenses listed under "Reed and Powell" and "Hamilton and Smith" while others give individual names and itemized expenses accrued by those individuals for various services rendered. Scope and Contents This collection comprises a selection of Materials related to the Craw and Deubert families of Coxsackie. Of particular note is a selection of ephemera related to local businesses during the interwar period, some mid-20th century election ephemera, and a fragment of canvas from an aircraft that crashed in Coxsackie in 1936. Also included are materials from the 1937 and 1938 classes of Coxsackie High School.

Scope and Contents Item is a bound ledger containing the accounts of various residents of the Village of Catskill with Charles L. Beach and Company for deliveries of Coal. It appears that accounts were both for residential users and businesses. An alphabetical index of all account holders appears at the front of the ledger. On pages 415 to 422 appear what seems to be an account possibly of coal useage or sales from the Steamboat Redfield, and a separate account follows for the "McManus Hay Dock."

Scope and Contents The "Student Reflector" appears to be a collection of poetry and prose by students of the Margaretville Academy/Seminary kept during the year 1853-54. This collection of works begins as the diary of student Walter C. Palmer Jr., but after five entries the volume becomes a collection of essays and poems composed primarily by female students on various topics. The essays open with an editorial by Susan A.
