Scope and Contents File contains thirty receipts of Joshua Atwater in account with various businesses in Catskill. Included are receipts for goods purchased of Samuel DuBois, Amos Cornwall, Peter Brestead, Doty and Golden [Opera House Building], Orrin Day, H. M. Kinstry, Beach Robinson and Co. [Boat Fare], Luke Kierstead, and numerous others. All business appears to have been conducted on behalf of Atwater's personal household.

Scope and Contents File contains a selection of materials related to the Austin Paper Mill in Catskill, NY. The earliest Document is a receipt to Abner Austin from William H. Spencer of Athens, NY certifying payment for an engraving of the paper mill which Austin commissioned from Spencer. Also included is a letter thanking Abner Austin for a donation to the American Seamen's Friend Society in 1865, and a selection of correspondence with Mr. Harry Brandow concerning the old Paper Mill in 1934.
