Scope and Contents
File contains correspondence between Abraham Van Dyck of Coxsackie and James Powers of Catskill concerning lands described in the estate of Judge Garrit Abeel upon his passing. Also included are two indentures for land, the first being a deed of Anthony Abeel to Garrit Abeel in 1800, and the second a deed from Mary Van Wagenen, Alexander Paton, Ann Paton, Tunis Van Wagenen, Susan Van Wagenen, and Mary Merrifs to Garrit Abeel in 1818. Also included is a map showing surveyed lands on the Catskill Flats at the convergence of the Kline Kill and Catskill creek in the vicinity of Salisbury Manor surveyed in 1787 by Christopher Tappen.
