Letizia Vatalaro Memorial Collection

Scope and Contents This collection comprises a selection of documents collected and retained by Letizia Vatalaro over the course of her life reflecting aspects of both her professional and personal life. Of particular note are snapshots in her photographic colleciton showing Reed Street and the riverfront at Coxsackie during the interwar period, as well as a selection of ephemera related to Coxsackie High School and her subsequent work in Civil Defense during World War Two.

Scope and Contents This collection comprises a series of 43 letters written by Dr. Theodore Cornell of New Baltimore, New York to his brother Frederick Cornell, D. D., of Raritan, New Jersey. The letters are primarily of a personal nature, conveying news of family with some details about community events and the illnesses of particular patients Dr. Cornell ministered to.

Maggie Newton Van Cott Book of Psalms

Scope and Contents Book of Psalms originally belonging to Rev. Margaret (Maggie) Newton Van Cott. Van Cott was the first woman to be licensed to preach in the Methodist Episcopal Church. She made frequent trips to Greene County, and lived on Liberty St. in Catskill and in Jefferson Heights. She is buried in the Cairo Cemetery.

Scope and Contents Map is a survey of the division of the old TenBroeck Farm on the southern side of the Embought completed by John Van Vechten in 1834. The farm was in the vicinity of the Van Orden, Trumpbour, and Richardson Farms, and was divided following its purchase by Jacob Van Orden and William and Jarvis Richardson. Scope and Contents This survey map showing the extent of the Loveridge Patent is a copy of an original prepared for the benefit of Michael Van Vechten, Alexander MacDowel, Temperance Loveridge, and Hannah Loveridge in 1718. The copy was probably produced in the late 1790s and overlays features from the older original map, including a memorandum explaining the purpose of the subdivision, alongside features which didn't exist when the original was prepared. Scope and Contents Map shows the boundaries of a patent located in the modern Town of Cairo along the upper main branch of the Shingle Kill Creek. The patent was originally granted to "Lieutentant Duncan" and Neal McClains and Doctor Malachai Streat. Ephraim Darby completed a survey of the parcel in August 1794.
